I just saw Alex Roy of Team Polizei 144 on Dave. He recently set a new record for the run of 31:04, which I figure is probably a sustained speed around 100-110 mph. Of course, he has written a book about it.

I never realized those lame Cannonball Run movies were based on anything real, but I can't help wondering how well a TDI would do. Even my decade old TDI can maintain 110+ MPH and would have to stop half as often as a BMW M5.
