The recession started upon my arrival
While reviewing my 401(k) prospectus today, I just have a hard time
believing W when he says the economy is doing well. I guess, technically
I lost less money during 2004-Q3 than I did this time last year, but
can not get myself to equate "not quite as shitty" with "doing well".
It's probably because I don't subscribe to the necessary assumption of
politics that words don't mean anything at all and the truth is only what
it is perceived to be.

Searching for a book
(to celebrate Steve's nuptials)
with a clue inside
117.19 064 is supposed to be the call number and
I was pulling books off the shelf frantically looking
for the book as part of some contest. It makes no sense.

fecal-vocal rage
Googling on "Beowulf +cunt" (because Hrunting kinda sounds like cunt,
doesn't it?) turns up some real gems, like Druidic Poetry.
Interesting bits, to me:

Interesting bits, to me:
- him playing around and re-doing Tolkien's Beowulf passage
- His sarcastic crack at composing in the style of GK Chesterton

Education fails, but Evolution moves on
Supposedly, this sentence was written by a high school graduate:
thing, which is only marginally interesting. But, I had to flog this
because of "intredus". I just really like the look of the word. It is
much more interesting to look at than "introduce".
It makes sense to see how quickly a language such as Old English could
splinter into at least 6 nearly unintelligible dialects in the space of
a couple hundred years when you consider how creative people will be
either accidentally or intentionally without the restraining force of
"proper grammar" and "education".
ya dogeball is a blast i dont think i saw u, next time u sould intredus your self :)At first I thought dogeball may have been some sort of mystical Japanese
thing, which is only marginally interesting. But, I had to flog this

Vertigo
Well, I heard the new U2 tune today first on DC101 and then on
Baltimore's 98 Rock. It's a pretty good song. It didn't grab me
like "Discotheque" did the first time I heard it, but I think it'll
grow on me.
There's probably nothing to this, but the beat and the vocal effects
remind me of "Lady With the Spinning Head" from Salome.
